Ivy Bradley is a painter who earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2013.
Her work explores the sexualization and sexuality of women, paying specific attention to sexual power dynamics, the role of the male gaze, and the fetishization of the female body. In particular, Bradley gravitates to the image of the “money shot” and its ubiquitious use as the denoument of pornographic films.
In making these paintings, Bradley spills her own sexual fears, desires and curiosities on the canvas in order to explore her subject without hesitation. She is largely influenced by intersectional feminism, social justice politics, and popular culture.
